Celery juice. All the rage…
Have you heard about the miraculous benefits of celery juice on an empty stomach first thing in the morning? I hadn’t either until shortly after Christmas and now that’s all I seem to be reading about on Facebook and Instagram. It seems that EVERYBODY is doing it.
According to the Medical Medium, drinking celery juice on an empty stomach can have the following benefits:
Parsley Health’s Dr. Safdieh states, basically, that celery has a lot of beneficial nutrients, but there’s no real evidence that it will “cure you” or prevent you from getting sick.
WebMD tells us that you’re probably better off just eating it (maybe with some peanut butter?).
According to many blogs and social media posters, celery juice can make you slimmer, cure acne, alleviate pain, have more energy, cure depression, and much more! It all sounds wonderful!
So, yeah, I have been trying it. Today marks 2 months (minus maybe 4 days when I was out of celery) of juicing every morning, on an empty stomach. Honestly, the only thing I have noticed is that I no longer really care for coffee. This makes me a little sad, because I LOVE coffee.
